Distinctive Log and Timber Frame Homes

Construction has begun to build a Timber Frame house and detached Carriage House in Hillsborough.  The 10.5 acre lot was developed by Broyhill Wiles Developing and the construction will be led by Broyhill Wiles Log and Timber Frame Builders

The Hillsborough home site is located in a private development off Orange Grove Road in Orange County. The carriage house has two double parking bays with a workspace and storage area on the lower level.  The bays are separated by an entrance that leads upstairs to an apartment with a full kitchen, living room, breakfast area and separate bedroom with a full bath and closet space.  The siding of the carriage house will be cedar shake and Hardi Trim with a matte black metal roof.

The timber frame house will be supplied by Heritage Timber Frames.  The foundation will be Superior Walls and the roof system will be timber frame with spray foam insulation.  The Pella windows will be a mixture of casement and double hung.  This home is based on the highest efficiency building techniques and products.  The short and long term environmental impacts will be minimized by creating a High Performance Smart Home.
