Distinctive Log and Timber Frame Homes

Broyhill Wiles Developing

The green building initiative does not stop with a proper design of a house.  Low-impact site planning and community considerations of the existing and new infrastructure can increase the positive benefits of the environmentally stable building process.

Proper lot design and preparation are critical practices in developing for the reduction of environmental impacts and to improve the energy performance of both residential housing and comercial buildings.  Basic processes include orienting structures to maximize passive solar heat, protecting trees and vegetation that aid in erosion control and engineering onsite stormwater retention and filtration features such as rain gardens.

We practice low-impact developing (LID) that utilizes site-specific land planning and design practices, as well as state of the art technologies to both conserve and protect the natural environment and to decrease the infrastructure costs.  By designing structures, lots and developments using LID practices, Broyhill Wiles Developing can positively influence the resource efficiency of each home as well as the entire neighborhood's environmental impact.
